WACO, Texas – Waco ISD has named Angie Fetsko as the new Dean of Greater Waco Academies (Greater Waco Advanced Manufacturing Academy and Greater Waco Advanced Health Care Academy). With more than two decades of combined experience in health care and education, Fetsko brings a unique and student-centered perspective to her new role, blending real-world industry expertise with innovative instruction in a district where innovation thrives.

Fetsko began her career as a registered nurse, serving at both Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest Medical Center and Providence Hospital. From 2015 to 2021 she served as a health science teacher for the Greater Waco Advanced Health Care Academy and from 2021 until now has  helped shape the district’s approach to career and technical education as the coordinator of curriculum and certifications. In that role, she has helped students graduate with professional credentials, hands-on experience and a strong foundation for future success.

“Angie Fetsko’s leadership has been instrumental in the success of Greater Waco’s health care academies,” Superintendent Dr. Tiffany Spicer said. “Her ability to align classroom instruction with workforce needs—and her deep commitment to student success—will be key as we continue to grow academies for GWAMA and GWAHCA that open doors for students in every field.”

Fetsko holds a bachelor’s of science degree in nursing and a master’s degree in nursing leadership and management, both from Western Governors University. She is a certified teacher and has led curriculum development and instructional strategy efforts in Waco ISD’s college and career readiness programs.

As director, Fetsko will oversee the continued development of Greater Waco Academies, working closely with industry partners, educators and higher education institutions to build bold, relevant pathways for students in high-demand fields.
